Spring Patio Update with Better Homes & Gardens

Please note that this post is sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart.

Spring is fast approaching, and I wanted to create the perfect outdoor dining experience on my back patio. I started with a blank slate under my covered porch. I knew I needed to start with finding the perfect outdoor dining table and chairs. When I saw the Better Homes & Gardens Ellington Dining Set at Walmart, I knew I had found the perfect piece. I loved that it was a complete 7-piece set great for my family. I loved that the table had a steel frame and was very sturdy, to withstand the elements. The chairs are upholstered in sling with olefin blend fabrics to maintain their color and comfort outdoors.

Once I had the table picked out, I knew I wanted one more large statement piece, since our covered area could accommodate a little extra seating. So I added the Better Homes & Gardens Egg Chair. I have always wanted a large lounge chair and this was just what I was looking for.

The last step was adding accessories. The accent pieces can be just as important as the main furniture because they complete the look.

First let’s set the table. I chose this wooden tray as a centerpiece. Then added some simple vases of flowers in the tray. Then to set the table for dinner added white plates and bowls similar to these. Add some glassware and we are all set for patio dining.

Next let’s add some pillows. When I saw the Better Homes & Gardens 16″ x 16″ x 16″ Outdoor Blue Woven Poufs I knew I needed them. I love that they can be used as extra seating or as a footrest in our patio space. This trend right Pouf features a global woven design in ivory and blue cove yarns, and I was even more excited when I saw there were matching pillows. The poufs and pillow are UV treated for long-lasting outdoor use and are also water resistant.

Last step is the mood lighting. Those spring and summer nights can be so beautiful, but we want to enjoy our space even after the sun goes down. That’s why I added Better Homes & Gardens 22ft Outdoor LED Cafe String Lights in Black. We strung these vintage style LED lights over the pergola, patio, and trees, creating a warm and inviting space.

Candles and lanterns are also a great way to add ambiance. The table is set with a few burning candles. You can even add candles with citronella scent to keep the mosquitos away. I love mixing and matching textures and metals with the lanterns. I used a great mix of black and gold metal lanterns, along with the soft texture of rattan. Here are some beautiful lanterns from the Better Homes & Garden Collection at Walmart.

Baskets are another great way to add texture. I love that baskets are so versatile. You can use them to hold beautiful plants and flowers. They can be placed on the ground, on a plant stand or even on a table. Baskets can also be used to store extra pillows and throw blankets for those breezy nights.
