Outdoor Paint Project

This weekend was warm and sunny, so I tackled the first of many outdoor projects. These cute old chairs were left on the front lawn when we moved in a few months ago. I didn’t like the red, but I still wanted them to look chippy and old. (don’t mind the weed and overgrown grass, another project, 5 acres is a lot to manage)

I rave about Heirloom white paint by Rustoleum, however  I buy it at Home Depot and I stopped in Lowes, so I got a substitute. It was their Valspar line, flat creamy white spray paint. These chairs are real wood and very old, so the wood sucked the paint up a lot. After 2 coats, it still wasn’t what I was wanting, so I found a can of white trim paint in the garage and brushed some on to give it a more weathered look. Here is how it turned out. I also painted these side tables with the same spray paint and then sanded it for a distressed look

If you want to create a similar look, here is the paint that I used, the middle bottom row, flat creamy white.

I still however prefer Heirloom White cheapest at Home Depot.

Similar lantern for $20

Similar for $40

Large for $60

Similar chairs for only $40

And cute $30 end table
